THE POSITION

The Pennsylvania Game Commission is seeking an experienced and dependable Game Lands Maintenance Worker to work in our State Game Lands. If you are looking for a challenging and rewarding career the Pennsylvania Game Commission could be the place for you!

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

A Game Land Maintenance Worker 1 performs semi-skilled work and assists with other duties. For example in this position, you will assist with maintenance, repair, and construction of bridges, roads, parking areas, gates, posting signs, ranges, and more. This position will also require you to assist with mowing, habitat management, and other duties as needed.

A Game Land Maintenance Worker 2 is required to utilize Class A Commercial Driver’s License in the operation of motorized equipment that’s required. Operate but not limited to the following: dozers, backhoes, front end loader, tractors, dump trucks, large tilt bed trucks, roller sprayers, mowers, grain elevator and different farm implements. A Game Lands Maintenance Worker 2 performs full journey level maintenance and trades related work. Lead Game Land Maintenance Workers 1 and Equipment Operator A’s in the construction, maintenance, use of equipment, and techniques for maintaining and enhancing state game lands which includes construction and maintenance of buildings, roads, and game land management areas.

Both Levels:
Construction and maintenance of State Game Lands, facilities, infrastructure, habitat and resource areas.

Work Schedule:
Monday – Friday
7:00AM to 3:30PM
Lunch Period: 30 minutes
Position is subject to AWS – four 10-hour days on a seasonal schedule.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

One year of laboring experience using construction tools and equipment; Or

One year of farming experience using agricultural tools and equipment; Or

One year of construction equipment operation experience; Or

An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Additional Requirements:

  • All positions require possession of an active Pennsylvania non-commercial Class C driver’s license or equivalent.
  • All positions are required to obtain an active Class A Commercial Driver’s License within one year of employment in this job.
